Learning from Classroom Instruction
• Read assigned material prior to attending class.
• Take notes on important notes emphasized in the assigned readings and during class. These are helpful for the weekly quizzes, discussion posts, and other assignments.
• Be ready to participate and interact with peers during class by reviewing notes before class and come prepared to apply concepts by working with peers on group activities.
• Read the Reading Guides before the assigned readings to preview the topics and content covered and help organize notes and thinking.
Learning for and from Assignments
• Review notes from assigned material and in-class assignments for help with discussions, reflections, and quizzes. Read assignment feedback from both instructors and peers.
• Use the quizzes as checkpoints for comprehension of course concepts.
• Start projects early. Reach out the instructor or attend office hours for feedback prior to submitting the final project.
• Apply concepts learned in class when working with students and peers.
Preparing and Studying for Exams
• No exams.
• Review notes and material prior to taking reading quizzes. Organize notes from readings and notes from topics in class to prepare for summative quizzes.
Helpful External Resources
• Attend office hours and study groups for additional assistance with the material. Use the personalized feedback from the instructor to improve for future assignments.
• Use Canvas discussion boards to share insight with peers.
• Read additional articles posted on Canvas.
• Watch TED Talks & YouTube videos discussing the topic of the week.
• Visit the Writing Center for assistance with essays as needed.
